We ordered steak that looked very unusual to us-almost purple—and had a strange appearance and an extremely chewy texture. We did not enjoy it at all. Because of how unusual the meat looked and felt, we even started wondering whether something unusual had been done to it. We looked up things like meat glue and newer forms of cultivated meat, but I have no evidence that La Candela II uses either, and I am not making that claim. I'm simply explaining why the food raised questions for us. We asked if the steak could be remade, and the waiter told us that sending food back comes out of the waiter's paycheck. I found that very concerning as a customer. We then asked for a manager but were told one wasn't available. Ultimately, we were left feeling that our concerns weren't being taken seriously. For the price, I expected much better food and service. There are many other Peruvian restaurants nearby that I would personally choose before returning to La Candela II Based on our experience, I wouldn't recommend La Candelle for a special dinner.

Excellent service, the staff was super friendly and attentive. We had a great time celebrating a birthday and highly recommend to anyone on the area to come and visit for some delicious food and experience. Very affordable for the quality of food.

I had a very disappointing experience at La Candela II. The food was not as described, and overall lacked flavor, which was surprising given my previous visits. I ordered the parrillada de mariscos, expecting a grilled seafood platter, but what I received was clearly sautéed—there were no grill marks at all. It completely missed the mark of what the dish is supposed to be. Additionally, the ceviche tasted off compared to what I’ve had before. The flavor profile was different and not in a good way. The yam in the dish was heavily overpowered by spices, to the point where it lost its natural taste entirely. What made the experience worse was the interaction with the owner. When I brought up my concerns, instead of showing understanding or trying to resolve the issue, she became combative and insisted the dish was served correctly. That kind of response really takes away from the dining experience. Unfortunately, between the poor execution of the dishes and the lack of customer service, I won’t be returning.

Reccomended and was not disappointed. Food and service was excellent. Will be going back again for lunch and maybe happy hour sometime soon.

Our friends took us for our 47th anniversary in 7/13 everything was Great!! I will return and recommend. The only thing is if you want to enjoy the live music and dance you have to be there by 8pm. Thank you we had a wonderful time!!!
